Ambassador of Finland visit to Hua Na

The Finnish Ambassador recently visited Hua Na School in Thailand, highlighting the strengthening relationship between Finland and Thailand. The visit focused on understanding the educational initiatives led by the Zero 2 Hero Foundation, supported by Finnish company Kone.
Hua Na School is at the front of transforming and improving education for under privileged children in Thailand, integrating Finnish techniques and focusing on sustainability and technology. During the visit, the ambassador interacted with students and teachers, showing strong interest in the work of Zero 2 Hero foundation. “The partnership between Finland and Thailand, visible at Hua Na School, is about inspiring students to learn by doing,” the ambassador stated.
Beyond the school, the ambassador visited the Vice governor of Phetchabun and various representative of the education system. He also visted the local Wat in Na Yom village, and finally to Hua Na school to meet the children in their learning environment..
The ambassador praised the innovation and enthusiasm witnessed at Hua Na, noting that this partnership opens new doors for students. “Education is a bridge between cultures, and together we can build a prosperous future for all,” the ambassador said.
This visit not only highlighted the achievements at Hua Na School but also emphasized a shared vision for international cooperation.
The Zero-to-Hero Foundation is dedicated to providing active learning for Thailand’s children, starting with its Baby Club for infants from 6 months to 2 years and culminating in preparation of youth in upper secondary school for participation in the modern Value-based Era (4.0). Essential elements include early development of critical skills (physical skills, social skills, emotional skills, communication skills and cognitive skills). Through the HighScope approach, children learn to plan, do and review at an early age. Students also all learn English at an early age through the interactive Moomin English Language Program.
SCHOOL COOPERATION
Z2H staff members collaborate with teachers in the local government school in the Huana Village to implement active-learning based on Finnish education model. The curriculum helps students develop thinking skills and initiative instead of spending up to five hours a day passively watching television lectures beamed from Bangkok into their classrooms. Z2H is also consulting with the Obodjo Secondary School and has provided workshops for its teachers.
AMBITIOUS TARGETS
The goals are
( 1 ) for every child who makes the full Zero-to-Hero journey from 0 to 18 to have a good future and be capable of taking care of her/his family and
( 2 ) for the Z2H approach to spread to other schools in Phetchabun Province and throughout Thailand.
